Postgraduates Studies.

  I´ve always thought about doing a postgraduate after getting the degree in musical interpretation, but…I´ve never asked myself in what I want to specialize. I think that this is the perfect moment to think about it, doing research, I found out a lot of different postgraduate courses in the artistic area, for example I can specialize in musical interpretation, in musical composition or even in the investigation area. But I´d really like to do a postgrad in Latin-American Musical Research, this involves developing the ability to link different musical practices whit historical, social, and cultural aspects of our continent, I’d like to take this one because this kind of music is not so typically played in our repertoire. My other option would be doing a postgrad in musical interpretation, to expand my horizons and achieve all my musical and artistic goals. Current Academic Challenges

  I think that this year has been rough, first, because of the university problems, the strikes, our country´s social issues and finally the pandemic situation, we had to face very serious problems and our learning was harmed. Since the last year, I started online classes, at the beginning this was not a problem because I had only 2 subjects, flute classes and complementary piano, I had a lot of time to study and I didn´t have to travel to Santiago, this was not so bad because I spend a lot of time traveling. I enjoyed playing in the comfort of my house and not having to be worried to leave on time. 2021 has been a little more agitated, because now I´m having eight subjects, and sometimes the internet is not so good, now I have new subjects like Symphonic Orchestra or chamber music, in these ones I get to play with other musicians, I personally think that online practices lose the sense of making music. My Dream Job.

  When I was a child, I painted all day. I always saw a famous paintings and I was amazed with the beauty, I said “when I be older, I want to be a painter and travel around the world”, when I was young, I wanted to go to an academy to learned to draw and paint, but the schedule coincides whit the schedule of my lessons of flute in this time. Well, the true is that I left this discipline for other interests, and now I only prefer to appreciate this art. When I was in the middle stage, I started to be interested in the periods of the earth, in the natural formations, in the types of animals that before lived in the earth, in the difference between volcanoes and other related topics. I saw around me and asked myself these types of questions. In this period, I thought to be geology, work outdoors in the nature, caught my attention. The Technology in my Profession.

    I would like to talk about the importance of the technology in my profession, especially in pandemic time.   When I started whit online classes, I started using other kinds of technology for example the camera, pc and tablet. I think that the most useful is the pc, because I have all my classes trough them, and also I can find all the information that I require for my classes. When I record myself playing the flute for diferent subjects of the career, such as Symphony Orchestra or the subject Chamber Music, I prefer to use a professional camera instead of using a smartphone camera, it´s mainly because it has better quality of audio and video. Sometimes when I can´t print a sheet music, I prefer to read them on my sister´s tablet. I think that my favorite piece of technology is the smartphone. I can use the smartphone for a lot of things such as: study and doing my home work, use applications like YouTube for more detailed study, use a tuner and metronome for...

The Best Holiday Ever.

    I believe that the best holiday I´ve ever had was when I went to Rapanui in 2018. I went with the Paine Symphonic Orchestra , wich I belong to, we went there to play at the first orchestra´s meeting in Rapanui. We stayed for six days, we stayed in the cultural center of Toki, built whit recyclable material, I remember the wonderful view that we had of the ocean and the night sky. The days we didn´t have to rehearse with the other orchestras, we went touring through the island. I remember that in the second day we went to the Rano Kau volcano, it was an amazing place, after we went to Ahu Tongariki , a famous place for having great quantity of moais, there was a ceremonial platform whit fifteen moais, some of them still with their bodies buried in the ground, and some others with eyes painted. In other opportunity we went to Anakena´s beach, I can still remember the water temperature, it had the perfect point between hot and cold. That day while we were eating...

Vienna, the musical city.

  Vienna the capital of Austria.   When I started with the subject Music History , immediately became interested in Vienna, because it was the principal epicenter of clasical music and is very important to this day. I’m also interested in the architecture, the history of the composers that born in this place and learning about the culture. Final blog.

  Finally, I want to speak about my blogging experience, throughout the year I had to develop several themes and I can’t believe how fast time passed. I really enjoyed blogging because it helped me to know myself and order my ideas, for example, introduce myself and start defining what to show and what is important to me, ask me why I choose my career, or what is my favorite subject, or what do I expect from my future in the professional area. my duty for the English subject it was develop all the topics that were presented to me, but sometimes it didn´t feel like an obligation. I think that bloggings have many advantages. The advantages will be that you create your own space to show a bit of your life and what do you think about different topics, along with meeting your colleagues. In addition, you can practice your English and developing ideas. my only difficult was talking about my future because I´m not very clear about what I can achieve and i get anxiety. I don’...
